Downey Records were looking for something to follow up their hits by the Rumblers and the Chantays. In the three years following those early successes, the kind of music enjoyed by American teenage audiences changed. Along came a whole new sound, first with the British Invasion groups, followed by the folk rock movement emerging from Los Angeles. The quartet of garage punkers contained here are great examples of how those influences affected the Downey sound, including a previously unreleased cut from The New Breed!
