This year, on 6th February, Queen Elizabeth II was the first ever British Monarch to celebrate a Sapphire Jubilee.  To commemorate this historic event in our monarchy, the UK Royal Mint has produced ‘The Queen's Sapphire Jubilee’ £5 coin and the Royal Mail have issued a new 'Sapphire' £5 Stamp - the first ever UK Machin Stamp to commemorate an event.  Together, the Royal Mail & Royal Mint have produced this superb cover with features both the new £5 stamp and the £5 commemorative coin.

Queen Elizabeth II is the first ever British monarch to celebrate 65 years on the throne which makes this a hugely significant event for collectors around the world and this First Day Coin Cover serves as a superb memento of this event.

The Sapphire £5 stamp has been cancelled on its first day of issue, 6th February 2017, at St James's Palace, London SW1, where Princess Elizabeth was formally proclaimed Queen on 8th February 1952.

Struck by The Royal Mint to a brilliant uncirculated finish, the £5 coin features a design by Glyn Davies on the reverse that includes a quote from the Queen's 21st birthday speech. The obverse features the Jody Clark portrait of the Queen.  

The £5 coin has been protectively encapsulated and is housed within the cover.
