This American or English folding bellows plate camera was made in the 1880's or 90's. I believe it is a studio camera.  It is beautifully made with all brass fittings, reinforcement, hinges, latches, etc.  The gears for the bellows work well. and it is fitted with a frame for the glass photographic 5" x 7" plates it would have used.  I think this camera may have seen service in the Third World given that it has a "make do" housing for the lens made out of what appears to be a tin can.  I remember having my picture taken in India with just such a camera.  Other than two missing small brass plate retainers missing, the rest of the camera (including the bellows) is in good condition.  We put the camera through our restoration studio to fix cracks, chips, etc.  The overall size of the camera when folded is 9" wide x 10" tall x 3.5" thick.
