Pleione Orchid Mix:

Description: This pleione orchid mix is for (1) near blooming size bulbs randomly of any of the varieties that I have available. Unfortunately, over the years and repotting some have lost their ID tags it won't be known what you will receive. Some of the varieties that this mix could include are: Tongariro, Berapi, Formosana, Confusa, Shantung, Grandiflora, Lyn Butterfield, just to name a few. They have amazingly colored blooms which precede the leaf growth. Propagation through division at the end of the growing season. The largest bulbs will be chosen for you, but keep in mind that the size of the bulbs vary among varieties, some are larger and some are smaller but they will still be near blooming size. This is a great, cheap way to start your pleione collection.

Pleione are terrestrial orchids from China and India. They require free draining media and a distinct cold resting period. Plant immediately and only repot when the plants are dormant. Plant bulb with 2/3 of the bulb above the media. Keep moist in the summer. When the leaves die off in the fall, remove the bulb from the pot and store in a cool (40 degrees Fahrenheit) until growth starts again in the spring.

Note: Near bloom size plants will take 1-2 years to reach flowering size. But are a very affordable option.

Shipping: This orchid will be sent Bare Root to save you on shipping. Great care will be taken to protect the plant as well as the blooms if they have any, but please keep in mind that blooms aren't guaranteed. Please mind the weather and don't allow your plant to sit outside for too long, as we can't be responsible to weather damage (heat or cold).
All shipping is done via USPS shipping.
