This is an antique Singer model 128 sewing machine which apperars complete. It has the nice bent wood case which is in good condition but it does have a few dents and scuffs. The key is not included but I believe the case can be opened/closed using a flat head screwdriver.
The paint and accent graphics are decent considering the machine’s age. Althought there are signs of wear and scratches in the finish, there are no large gouges in the paint, or other damage to this unit. There is also no significant corrosion of the plated parts. Note that the chrome bobbin bay covers have old masking tape on them which can be removed.
The light works but the upper switch button is missing but it can still be switched on/off without it. The cord included with the machine is ok, but it should probably be replaced with a new one.
The knee bar which is used for speed control is included. The machine works and sews very well. It uses the old spool style bobbin. I had to google a video to see how to thread it, but once the bobbin was properly threaded and inserted I was able to pick up the bobbin thead easily and to begin to sew. I was even able to load the bobbin thread on to the spool easily with the integral bobbin winder, which worked very well.
The last pic shows the stitching I ran on a piece of fabric. The stitch length varies on the top three rows of stitching at the top of the pic (shortest on top, longer on the bottom). It still might need some tune-up given it’s age, but again it sews well and fast!
This machine though functioning is sold as is, no warranty is offered or implied. There is no manual or other documentation included with the machine.
The serial number is AA141235 which dates it to 1924.
This machine is fairly heavy - estimated to be about 36 lbs. when packaged for shipment.
