This week we have this One pound note that was in a collection of WWII items (The man was in the Royal air force and his last name was Wilson) I dont think this has anything to do with the bill but you never know. I do wonder why he kept this particluar one though.
In 1940, following the outbreak of the Second World War, one pound notes were issued in a new blue-orange colour scheme to deter counterfeiters, although the design remained the same. At the same time, metal thread running the paper was introduced as a security feature. After the war one pound notes were issued in their original green colour.
