Wonderful and detailed Bronzed Figural mount depicting an 18th century Gentleman in powdered wig, seated on a stump with vine and grape behind, reading a book in one hand whilst holding a stylus in the other. One side of him is a Fox with large curved brush staring up at him. On the other side is a large Crane staring down at an imaginary pond.

The Casting is a wonderful piece in itself and would grace any display. Size is 20 x 9 x 22 high cms.

The lower portion is another beauty. A large cast Ormolu gilded brass shield some 34 wide by 23 high (cms) attached to a hard metal box frame on 2 cast rear legs.

This is very ornate with a scrolled Georgian look topped by a Fleur de Lys. There are 2 pale marble inserts either side of the dial and another bronzed cartouche depicting Fox and Rabbit in a little wooded glade, below the dial. At the centre is an ornate porcelain dial with roman numerals, marked in script with the name ‘Adewuters De Barins’ (possibly Aelewuters De Barius), plus in caps, ‘A MARINES’ (maker and town ? I’m not sure)

Full working on Twin Train – ticking away for 5 days now. ( Its ‘Bullet-proof’, no matter how many times I move it the clock keeps ticking and the bell keeps ringing)

There is one small fault. At some time past the Pendulum spring has been replaced with an abnormal spring, and whilst the clock works perfectly, in the interests of having a perfect clock, you may wish to replace this set-up.
