For sale is a pre-owned Hamilton World Timer men's watch, model 8984.  This is an incredibly rare watch, and becoming more and more difficult to fine.  I could not find this black dial model for sale or previously sold anywhere.  The white dial examples seem to be more common, and the only reference I could find for a white example that was sold was a liveauctioneers auction 3 years ago for $1000 plus 15% buyers premium plus tax (over $1200 total).  This watch is not new but it is excellent condition.  Very light signs of use.  No scratches on the crystal.  Working perfectly and has a fresh battery just installed the day of this listing.  The watch has two crowns and two inner rotating bezels/rings.  The left crown rotates the outer ring with all the various cities, so you can align the city with the 24 hr marking on the inner ring in order for the watch to show the time in a second time zone.  The right crown is used to set the main time (hour and minute hands) like any normal watch, and the smaller inner 24 hour ring rotates in sync (but in reverse direction) with the main time as you set it.  This inner dial will always show 24 hr time (corresponding to the time set on the hand) at the position near 12 on the main dial.  And this inner dial is color coded black and white for day/nite (am/pm).  It's quite easy to use once you try it.  If you were traveling and arrive in a new city abroad, just turn the right crown to rotate the outer ring to align the arrow for the city you are in with the 24 marking on the inner ring.  From that point forward, just look at the arrow for your city and the time in that city will be indicated on the inner ring in 24 hour format.  Many other watch brands make World Time watches like this, with the same basic function.  Patek Philippe produces some high end models of similar design that are over $150,000.  Girard Perregaux, IWC, and Longines also make similar world time watches.  This Hamilton model is a less expensive quartz example that serves the same purpose.  The watch measures 38.5 mm without the crowns and 42 mm with the crowns.  It has a brand new Ostrich grain strap installed.  “
