Japan - Late Edo period. A fine black lacquer four-case inro lacquered and inlaid in Somada technique with a well beneath a paulownia tree, signed Kajikawa saku with red pot sea.  The motif of this exquisite inro resembles Rinpa school works of art. The Kajikawa artists exhibited exquisite inro craftsmanship, some now housed in the collections of the Victoria and Albert museum in London and the Charles Greenfield in New York City.
