This line of individual ENGLISH WHIMSIES was introduced in 1971.  Eventually 12 SETS were made until 1984.  Each WHIMSIE SET used a different color box. Occasionally an individual figurine had to be resized due to broken molds thus issuing new ones in a slightly smaller size. Some were made with a WADE ENGLAND mold mark either around the base or in a recess under the base.  Some figurines were used as premiums in party crackers and in boxes of tea. Figurines measure between 1" and 1-3/4" high

George Wade and Sons, Ltd made these into a full fledged retail line due to it's popularity.

Set 10, introduced in 1979, consists of a KANGAROO, ORANGUTAN, TIGER, KOALA and a LANGUR   -- in a LIGHT GREEN  BOX.
