The fairbairn's Sykes was developed by W.E. Fairbairn, E.A. Sykes, and John E. Fairbairn and was used durin WW2 by the 4th and 6th Marine Regiments and the 3rd Battalion of U.S. Marine Raiders as well as British troops. The design was superior to other military knifes of that era. This one is a rare model with the beaded and ribbed grip. This one is unmarked but was most likely made by Wilkinson Sword Company. Knifes made during the war were often made unmarked to conceal the identity of the manufacturer so their factory wouldn't be bombed. This one has a blued blade and guard.
