Hornwort (Ceratophyllum Demersum)

Ceratophyllum Demersum, also known as Hornwort or Coontail, is a beautiful, fast-growing and easy-to-grow plant that is great for aquariums or ponds. It has sturdy, layered hair-like foliage that helps oxygenate and clarify the water as well as keep algae growth to a minimum. The leaves are typically dark green and grow from a 1/2 to 1-1/2 inches long on stems that can reach 24 inches in length. They may be potted or just left to float in the aquarium. Great as background plants and protection for newborn fry.

Plants thrives pretty much in any condition, at most any water temperature. They can easily anchored to the bottom with rocks or other media. They can also be left floating at the surface.

*Plants were originally started in my Koi pond, then transplanted in an aquarium in my greenhouse in the early Spring, to reduce pests such as mosquito larvae, etc. The aquarium contains hornwort plants and pond snails, so it may be possible for an occasional snail to hitch a ride on plants that are shipped.

I typically ship extra plants with every order when available.

Shipping:

Plants are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and your package will include your order of plants enclosed in a clear ZipLock bag, with a small amount of freshwater (free of chemicals) to keep your plants alive during shipping.

Your plants will be ready to transplant into your aquarium or pond when you receive them. Feel free to wash them off gently before transplanting.

In the rare case that your order of plants are DOA, please send a photo with a time stamp within one to two hours after delivery time. I will make arrangements for either another shipment or a refund, minus shipping costs.

Please note that during the summer and winter, your shipment of plants will be mailed Monday through Wednesday, so that they do not sit in a hot or cold warehouse over the weekend. Plants are sensible to extreme heat and cold, so to guarantee your plants arrive healthy, they are only shipped on these days.

*Unfortunately, I can not ship these plants to Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.

For combined shipping, follow these steps to combine your multiple orders:

1. Add multiple items to your cart by first clicking the "Buy It Now" button. You will be taken to a webpage that confirms your order with the option to "Continue Checkout with Paypal". Do not checkout to pay for this item (yet).

2. When you are finished shopping for your several items, proceed to your "Purchase History". You will see the option on the right side of your just-ordered items to "Pay Now" or "Request total from seller". Select "Request total from seller" and enter a message to notify the seller that you would like to combine your orders to ship together.

3. Wait for me to send you a new invoice with the discounted price.

4. Next, checkout with Paypal with the new invoice.

Once you have paid for your item, your items will be shipped.
