The    Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD SP Lens is a high-speed, standard zoom, Super    Performance (SP) Lens with built-in Vibration Compensation (VC) and Ultrasonic    Silent Drive (USD).

Tamrons    VC enables you to shoot hand-held in dimly lit conditions and use speeds up    to four stops slower than normal. This compact, lightweight lens incorporates    special high-grade glass in three LD elements, three glass molded aspherical    lenses, one hybrid aspherical lens and two Extra Refractive (XR) elements to    deliver exceptional images.

The    USD provides quick AF (Auto Focus) thats quiet, together with full-time manual    focus override. Along with its moisture-resistant construction, the Tamron 24-70mm    f2.8 Di VC USD SP Lens is equipped with a fast maximum aperture of f2.8 to ensure    natural out-of-focus areas with a shallow depth of field.

The lens will work fine at F2.8 but as soon as you close down beyond F2.8 an errro message shows there is no front cap
