Adapter for using a modern PP3 battery instead of a PP9.

This adapter enables you to run any vintage radio or other device designed for a PP9 battery from a PP3 (9-volt block) type, which is on sale in all supermarkets.

No change need be made to the equipment, there are no wires and nothing can go wrong.

The terminals on top of the board (PP9 out) are the same as those of the original battery. The small clips on the other side of the board will fit any sort of PP3, including rechargeable ones.  The alkaline type will last longest.

N.B. It is best to connect the adapter to the radio before inserting the battery. The clips are strong and have to be pressed together firmly.

A PP3 is very small. A long strip of cardboard can be wound round it to make it fit the space in the radio.  The last picture shows one in a Perdio Westminster.

Please compare this with my PP9 adapter for AA cells.

I am a vintage radio enthusiast, and I make all of these battery adapters myself as part of my hobby.  If what you have been watching is sold out, it will be re-listed as soon as possible.

Thank you for your interest.  If you have any questions about these adapters, or about your vintage radio, I will always try to help.
