About Us

In 1918 my Great Grandfather established Burns Garages Ltd, specialising in repairs to horse drawn carriages, the introduction of the motor car resulted in the rapid decline of the horse drawn carriage industry & the business changed with the times.

Our first contract with Ford Motor Company dates back to 1934, the early vision of Henry Ford & the manufacture of Ford vehicles at Trafford Park resulted in a boom in motorised transport, motor cars became affordable to working families.

The war briefly interrupted the expansion of Burns Garages with my Grand Father becoming a ferry pilot (flying any plane anywhere), the business continued at the time through the dedication of my Grand Mother & Great Aunt, who remains the Company secretary.

My Grandfathers philosophy was to ensure complete customer satisfaction at all times, ensuring that customers returned year after year & they recommended their family & friends to us, all staff at Burns Garages have this same philosophy today ensuring your visit is a pleasurable one.

Today at our Canal Street site (opposite Congleton Town Hall) we have the largest selection of second hand Ford cars in the area, all are prepared to our high standards by our factory trained technicians ensuring that the quality of the vehicle you buy is industry leading & all of our prices are continuously monitored to ensure that we give unbeatable value for money as well as top class quality.

Our showroom displays the latest Ford line up including the BMW beater the New Ford Mondeo, S-Max the 2007 European car of the year with a 5 star NCAP rating & the Ford Focus the best selling car in the country, again all prices are pre-discounted ensuring all customers get the same great deal. Great customer service & unbeatable value for money will also always be experienced in our Service Department & Accident Repair Centres, we have a wealth of experience in the team, 4 technicians have been with us for over 25 years & have all been through intensive training on the latest technology at the Henry Ford College, in addition we have been awarded the Chairman’s Award for customer excellence in 2004, 2005 & 2006.
