Campagnola complete head set and cotterless axle also campag !!

This is a really lovely and amazingly lightweight frameset -- I don't know how they got it to weigh so little! It is beautifully made throughout, with top quality cable guides and stops, Campy ends, hand-cut lugs, and those shot-in seat stays that Mercian developed specially for this frameset.

It appears to be a custom design, because although it has the distinctive Superlight lugs, I don't think the standard superlight would have had mudguard eyes or been brazed for bar-end shifters. The chrome was obviously an extra, too. It does have a 753 label, but it's a Mercian and weighs less than comparable 531 frames

Frame and forks are both arrow straight and have no dents, dints, dings or even dimples -- fairly remarkable for steel of this age. The chrome is stunning -- Mercian have always been proud of their chromework and you can see why. The work on the stays is well-nigh pristine. There are a couple of small scrapes, and marks as you would expect from a 30yr old frame, and i think someone in the past has touched up the paint around the axle housing as there is a small amount of paint run ,but it is still very very nice original paint and stickers arrow straight frame in the best super light weight steel reynolds made .

With Campag parts   ready to rebild and ride ,any questions just ask

Overseas postage costs have been set high just in case they are as bad as normal but i will probably be able to post cheaper once i know the location and total weight or i can package it up for your courier to collect if that helps , cash on collection is preferred but not essential, viewing to be arranged by appointment .

Overall, a very really special frame in wonderful original condition.

On 12-May-11 at 16:43:31 BST, seller added the following information:

There is a error in the listing for this item as i copied and pasteded some of the description of a very similar bike frame that sold a few days earlier as i am not a expert on these types of bikes and so  i am selling it as it is a mercian racing bike frame ,i have been advised its a king mercian , but all i know is its different to the one i just found on the internet , the forks have the serial number 5482 on them which i believe means it was made in 1982.

Top tube length is 21" or 53.5cm center to center between seat tube and handlebar tube

down tube from center of crank to the top of the seat tube is 21.5" or 54.7cm

i hope this helps

Also postage costs vary due to type of service required and destination ,if you would prefer to organise your own courier collection service i will package it up for you very securely with loads of bubble wrap and then put it in a bike box for you as you may be able to arrange the postage cost cheaper than i can.
