Legal document from Spanish Colonial Peru. The document is dated 9th of November 1562 and it regard the distribution of the posessions of Miguel de Cornejo among his grand-grandchildren Juana Munoz, widow of Alenso Mendez amd remaried with Miguel de Carnejo was left as safe administration of his estate when he died. Juana Munoz gives legal authority to Diego de Gutierrez (a dean of the merchants in Arequipa) and Anton de Castro (a residents of Arequipa) to represent at all tribunals.

Miguel de Carnejo served under Pizarro in the bettle in the town Cajamarca om 1532 where Inca Chief Atahualpa was taken prisoner. He is mentioned as one of the men who shared the so called Atahualpa ransom. Miguel de Carnejo was one of the founders of the town Arequipa where he settled and became mayor. He died in the battle at VVillacuri in 1554, defending the Spanish Crown against the rebellion Francisco Heruandez Ginon.
