What is a Moissanite?
Moissanite is a naturally occurring mineral - Silicon Carbide, however there are almost no supplies of it on earth. It was first discovered in 1893 by Henri Moissan in a meteor so, given its scarcity on earth scientist set out to create it. In 1995 jewellers realised that Moissanite would make an ideal gemstone given its almost diamond like properties.

Moissanite is a gorgeous gem in its own right and exhibts a fire, brilliance and sparkle quite different from a diamond.
