This 1 gallon bell jar is hand blown, heavy duty flint glass, with top closed and a glass knob. Though optically clear, some waviness is visible due to the thickness of the glass. Minor imperfections and inclusions in the glass are optical aberrations and do not affect bell jar strength.
The 1/2 inch thick polyethylene vacuum plate has a replaceable rubber gasket, and a barbed fitting, center bottom of the plate. This fitting can accommodate a hose (not included) with 1/4 inch inside diameter to attach a vacuum pump.
