In the last few years of the 1970's, in light of Seeburg's diminishing role in the juke box market, and as a result of the competition posed by other manufacturers, Seeburg Corp. contracted out the design of a new computerised selection system to an outside contractor. The end-result was pretty much a "dog's breakfast" of 3 boards with something like 40 IC's used.  It turned out to be hugely troublesome and totally unreliable, with many weird and intermittent faults.

Many of the SMC-series juke boxes (see list above) have been trashed or laid up by their owners because of this! 

Now, at minimal expense and with minimal effort, you can bring your SMC baby back to life! Full instructions included.
