Antenna gain is the key for the transmission range. Theoretically every 6dBi gain increase will double the transmission range. Compared to other products in the market, this unit has the highest gain and more than 13 times longer range.
This unit is fully weather-proof, ideal for outdoorusing. Outdoor use is very important to long range transmission of 2.4Ghz signal, we recommend you mount it outside to get clear line of sight(be sure to seal the coax cable connector with electric tape and outdoor silicone after installation).
The unit is very easy to use. Use the 25' coax cable connect the antenna to the RP SMA antenna port of the 2000mW WIFI adapter, point the antenna to the direction of the network. If possible, mount the antenna somewhere with clear line of sight to the networks you are going to connect, such as on the roof or a pole(20' high for optimum result). On the computer side, connect the USB cable(supplied) from the computer to the 2000mW WIFI adapter, load the driver from the CD(supplied). Now you can enjoy the longest range WIFI Internet.
For your convenience, we also supply a 5dBi rubber dock antenna. When you are using the 2000mW WIFI adapter for short range, you may unscrew the coax cable, screw the small antenna on. You don't need it when you are using the 15dBi antenna.

Important facts you should know before bid:
This outdoor 15dBi antenna is directional, that means it only cover an narrow angle. When use it, you have to point it to the source with the white plastic side, not the metal side. With the connector point to the ground, it is a vertical polarized setup. Turn it 90 degrees, it will become horizontal polarized setup.
To avoid possible network setting problem, plug it into the laptop, disable the built-in wireless card of the laptop, use the stock 5dBi antenna, go very close to the basestation router. Make sure it work, then bring it to the remote location, change the antenna back to the high gain 15dBi antenna. Turn the unit to different direction, try to get the best effect. While scan the network, don't more the unit.
Line of sight and direction are the two key issues of using this antenna. Try it on a pole at least 20 feet high outdoor, or by the second floor window with the glass up, you will see the difference. The antenna has to be at upright position, with the white plastic side facing the signal, connector pointing to the ground.
If you need a USB extension cable, make sure use a USB "active" extension cable (also known as a USB repeater cable). This cable contains active electronics which boost the USB signal for maximum reliability and performance over extended distances. Those passive cable won't work on long length. USB extension cable available in our ebay store, pay only $3.5 shipping cost for each cable shipped with the USB unit.
Range test result is based on same unit on each end, in clear line of sight. Because every application is different, we can' guarantee the result. For long range link(>1Km, or 0.6 mile), we recommend you install external antenna for the router side.

Q: "Do I need a wireless card in the computer to use this antenna?"
A: No, this is a completed solution. This unit is a high gain antenna and the wireless card combo. So all your need is a spare USB port on the computer.
Q: " My laptop has a built-in WIFI adapter, can this antenna boost it?"
A: No, this unit has it's own WIFI adapter. Please disable the built-in card to use this unit.
Q: "I have three computers in my house, how can I use this antenna for all of them?"
A: You only need to buy this router. After setup, you may setup a new WIFI network backboned from the antenna.
Q: "Can I connect this antenna to the router?"
A: No,
it's for the compuer only, you can't connect it directly on the coventional router. Only this specially designed router can be pluged directly in.
Q: "What's the chipset of the wireless card and who is the manufacturer?"
A: The chipset is Realtek 8187L, we can provide the driver for most of the OS. It fully support Backtrack 3, 4 and 5.
Q: "Which active USB cable should I choose, the USB 1.1 or USB 2.0? What's the maximum length I can use?"
A: The USB cable with the unit is about 5 feet. If you need longer cable, you may purchase USB active repeater cable.
Each cable is 16 or 32 feet.

cables(64 feet), or 2 of the USB2.0 16' cables(32 feet), or 3 of the

If using these cables outdoor, please seal the USB connectors
with electric tape and outdoor silicone to prevent moisture going
in.
The WIFI antenna is USB 2.0, so you should use
a USB2.0 cable, it provides higher data speed. On the other hand,
USB1.1 cable is fast enough if only use for Internet, the top speed
of USB1.1 is 12Mbps is faster than most DSL or cable Internet
service.
We recommend our cables. According our test, lots of other brand cables doesn't work well with our unit.
Q: "Can I install this antenna for my desktop computer?"
A: Yes, it's for any computer, as long as it has a spare USB port.
