Vector Research VRX 9000

Audiophile's dream!

Original owner who purchased in 1980(or 1981-he isn't sure) asked me to sell for him. He has owned since purchasing NEW at the Seattle Magnolia Hill Stereo Shop. This sweet brick - built stereo packs a heap of power and delivers a clean crisp sound that will bring the best of speakers to a new quality of sound!

I imagine if you are interested in this, you are aware of the features of VR. The handsome dark gray metal housing was sleek and ahead of it's time.

Condition: This has been stored for the past 20 years in the owner's guest bedroom which appeared to never have guests. Prior to that, it was fully operational and never been serviced. After full inspection and hooking up to my dual pair of BOSE 301 series ii for the last couple of days, I can say this functions exactly as it should. The radio tuner certainly picks up local radio clearer than any of my receives. The original owner left factory tape on the AM antenna. The only cosmetic blem to mention is the one shown in photo of left-footed face edge. It has light scuffs as shown. You cannot see it easily. It measures 17.25" × 15.5" × 5.5" / weighs 38 pounds packaged

RMS power, both channels driven with no more than 0.08% total harmonic distortion:

80W per channel from 20HZ to 20,000Hz (8 ohms)

85W per channel from 1,000Hz (8 ohms)

90W per channel at 1,000Hz (4 Ohms)

!!---AUTO-CORRECT EDITS---!!

In Puget Sound, we had a much-needed RAIN/wind storm yesterday knocking out most power in area. I posted this from Galaxy Droid and it's auto-correct settings got me! My outstanding FiveFigure Student Loan debit much be used for something.... if ONLY for grammatical errors to be avoided...? OUCH!!!!
