Pack of 10 fresh seeds (freshly harvested Sept 2015) of Fargesia papyrifera (also known as Borinda papyrifera) – Fully-hardy blue Bamboo – with full instructions for germination.
A very rare and difficult to get hold of frost-hardy blue bamboo, primarily native to China. Younger stems are a stunning and almost metallic-blue colour, with old stems then turning through blue-green.
Clumping bamboo (non-invasive).
Grows to a height of 4-6 m (13-20 feet), with a typical stem diameter of 3 cm, forming an open clump which is non-invasive.
Hardy to -10 to -15ºC (5 to 14ºF).
Bamboo seeds are not always available due to worldwide shortages of most species; this is because they rarely flower, sometimes every 30 to even 100 years (called gregarious flowering).
