 Up for sale is a BMW MS 41.1/MS41.2 DME engine control module. The EWS security software

 is turned off on this engine control computer, and it will run all single vanos OBD2 M52/S52

 engines, whether 3 or 5 series. Since this DME does not require permission from the vehicle anti-

 theft system (EWS) to run, it does not require a trip to the BMW dealership to be provisioned for

 your EWS. This also means that it is plug and play for an engine swap if you are interested in

 dropping an M52/S52 into something different, such as an e30 chassis.

 If you would like to take advantage of further setup options in order to decrease the likelihood of

 persistent Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC),  just send me a message containing the VIN# of the

 BMW in which you will be installing this DME. I will decode the VIN and set the DME up to

 match the configuration of your vehicle. This includes M3 S52 motors! If you are swapping one of

 these motors into another type of vehicle there are several other features that can be switched off

 such as post cat O2 sensors. Even the VANOS can be turned off!

 The MS41.1/MS41.2 (same hardware) has pretty much been blown wide open in the last year or

 two and the full ROM is now accessible and configurable. The end user now has the ability to

 switch on and off various vehicle specific external system monitors not directly related to

 management of the engine itself (emissions related monitors, for example) as well as alter the

 various maps that control ignition timing, injector pulse width, valve timing, etc similar to a

 standalone aftermarket ECM, to an extent. This makes tuning for modifications possible with just a

 few cheap tools and a stubborn desire to figure it all out!
