QUICK AND EASY
For all tests of USB cables, we use a Macbook Pro
connected, depending on the test, with a Cambridge Audio Dac Magic Plus,
a HRT Music Streamer II and a Rega DAC.
The Test
For this test, Macbook Pro, HRT Music Streamer II and the
usual songs played from our iTunes library. The cable of comparison is
the usual cheap USB cable bought at a department store length of 3
meters and the cost of 7 €.
The Supra USB2 shows a typical grey / blue coloured sheath
that characterizes most of the cables of the house. The USB ports are
cheap sealed thermo-plastic type. The hardness of the cable is average
but it is not very flexible, and after several curves tends to have a
memory effect on folds.
The most prominent difference was detected by listening to
some tunes with great extensions in the range. With NA NA'Waltz by Aqua
Bassino, the rarefied notes of the piano extend in space and the high
range is brilliant, present, and much less digital than the reference
cable. The biggest surprise is in the low range, where the particular
artificial notes of the bass are deep, round and warm. The horn of
Collin Steele is reproduced with the atmosphere of New York nights, just
quietly and which gradually expanded across the suburbs. Very realistic
then, cold but without the iciness of the reference cable.
Conclusions
In summary a great cable in relation to the low purchase price and that
makes you forget almost always to be in the presence of cold digital
signals. 5 stars Audiocavi. com
