Most skipping ropes are getting thinner, sleeker and more aerodynamic – ideal for efficiency, but less so for fat loss. Increase the intensity with Metal Rhino’s custom heavy rope that requires more strength to swing and a higher jump to clear.

Best for: Improving cardio and burning fat. – written by Max Anderton for Men's Fitness UK Magazine (June 2015 publication)

Bloody Savage. An absolute brutal conditioning tool. Love it. - David Handcock from hybridelite.com , Jan 2014

The battle skipping rope is amazing and one of the most unsung but effective conditioning tools. Anyone who struggles with skipping will in fact find this much easier, as the weight of the rope (2kg!) forces you to slow the movement down, whilst at the same time building muscle and burning fat. It’s a great all round combined strength and cardio workout. It’s low impact with BIG results, working multiple muscle groups… shoulders, core, legs to name but a few!

I incorporate it into all my Personal Training clients programmes (where there’s no shoulder or knee injury). They all love it. In fact, one of my clients actually asked for Metal Rhino’s details so they could use it in their back garden.

Thank you so much, Lisa. - Lisa Guile, May 2015

I bought both the 1.5 inch grip and the 2 inch grip Battle Skipping Rope. They are now my favourite piece of cardio equipment. They are worth every penny and they work you hard. - Paul Busher, May 2015

I picked up a Metal Rhino heavy skipping rope, made from battling rope material. It’s a great additional conditioning tool and deceptively tough – my Personal Training clients love/hate it. So, I love it. Awesome product and highly recommended. - Damien McErlean, March 2015

The Battle Skipping Ropes are a super bit of kit. They really work the body and fatigue most people very quickly – I bought two to drop into the circuit class and it is the piece of kit everyone loves to hate. Awesome product! - Robin Davis, February 2015

Over the past year I have focused on my health and fitness and have gained notable results. I was introduced to the battle skipping rope at a local class and it brought strength and conditioning to another level! LOVE THIS!! After ordering my own from Metal Rhino I am able to work at an intense level at home!! Perfect, thanks Scott and Metal Rhino. - Clare Maguire, March 2014

I find the battle skipping ropes great. They’re good and strong. I’m not using them just for skipping, which is tough, but I also put weight plates on them and can work biceps and triceps. I also loop them round a rack to do mini battle rope waves and slap-downs. A great conditioning tool! - David McKibbin (GAA County Down), March 2014

My favourite piece of fitness kit ever!!! I first used the rope at a local class and couldn’t believe that we actually had to use it for skipping... well, I absolutely loved it and the workout you get with this is amazing!!! So much that I had to have one for myself at home. It can be stored easily anywhere, and can be used indoors or outdoors. I can even put it in the car or backpack and use for outdoor training. Would highly recommend this to anyone as a part of their strength and conditioning training. - Jacqui Crossan, March 2014

I have found the Battle Skipping Rope an incredibly versatile piece of kit that helps me achieve my fitness goals. As a CrossFit athlete I credit it with helping me conquer the dreaded double unders. The thickness of the rope makes it compulsory for you to jump that little bit higher and this is essential for rotating the rope twice for the DU. The weight of the rope encourages positive use of the arms and shoulders. Apart from helping me with double-unders I also use the rope for hammer curls when used with a kettlebell. I no longer need big clunky equipment and I can take this anywhere with me. As a cardiovascular workout I love doing maximum effort one minute skips. If this doesn’t fry your shoulders and get your heart rate maxed out then nothing will! - John Quigley, March 2014

The battle skipping rope is my favourite piece of equipment. It is great fun and completely hammers you. I first used it during iFIT Elite. Ian Young introduced these in the 3rd week of our training, I thought it was a joke at first, but very quickly became hooked so much so that I think everyone needs a battle skipping rope in their lives. I have bought one for my Mum, Husband & Brother.

A great piece of equipment that takes up very little room, can be taken anywhere and when you only have 5-10 mins to spare in the morning for a workout, the battle skipping rope is perfect; a few kettlebell swings, deadlifts, sprints and skipping with this bad boy is a great way to start the day! I wouldn’t be without it. - Samantha Bell, June 2014

The battle skipping rope is a valuable part of my conditioning tools. Great for aerobic conditioning, building grip strength, and due to its weight your forearms get a hammering too! I wouldn’t be without it! - Eric Forsythe, August 2014

Skipping is a truly excellent way of improving your conditioning. Boxers, MMA fighters, the Crossfit community and many others in the know continue to use this exercise because it works. With the Metal Rhino Skipping Battle Rope you move into a whole new league of total body savagery.

The extra weight of the rope means the shoulder girdle musculature gets far more of a beating than traditional ropes. Since jumping rope already provides a rigorous cardiovascular workout, building strength of joints and ligaments (especially in the ankles) and increases agility and special awareness, the extra weight hits you’re whole body harder than normal ropes.

The rope also has a real positive for those that find skipping difficult. The rope’s weight means you cannot skip as fast, thus allowing the beginner to really learn the coordination required to perform this exercise. Furthermore, the number of skips needed to get a real conditioning effect is way less than with a speed rope. You have to jump higher to clear the thicker rope, which means your jumping strength will improve.

The ends of the rope are wrapped with special rubber for additional grip support.
