The Oxford Reading Tree 'Read with Biff, Chip & Kipper' series of books is used in a high proportion of primary schools and has helped millions of children around the world learn to read.  Teachers recognise the appeal of the characters in motivating children to want to learn to read and the benefits of the unique stages, which have been carefully graded to support progression. 'Read with Biff, Chip & Kipper' offers two important pathways to learning to read.  First Stories have been specially written to provide practice in reading everyday language and the Phonics stories help children practice reading by decoding sounds in words, as they learn to do in school.

The Level 2 books are aimed at children who are starting to read (approximately 4-5 years).  Remember that every child develops at their own pace so this is only a guide. 

'Cat in a Bag' is an Oxford Reading Tree Phonics: Level 2 book and includes two fun stories.
