Antique Kamer & Reinhardt 114 "Gretchen" Doll - K*R 114 30 - 11 inches (30 cm)
Absolutely precious pouty Character Doll c. 1910 with original antique clothes and wig

An ideal cabinet-sized collectable, this amazing K*M 114 Gretchen is 11 inches tall (excluding wig & bonnet). She has a lovely, wistful pouty expression that is so irresistible! Produced by Kamer and Reinhardt c. 1910 as part of their character series, the Gretchen 114 was produced in a variety of sizes - and this rare and delightful 11-inch version is a real treasure.

She has a bisque socket head with teal blue painted eyes, thick black upper eye-liner, one-stroke tapered brows, accented nostrils and closed mouth with full lips in pouting expression. She has her original brunette mohair wig and original cardboard pate. Her beautiful and finely sculpted bisque head is incised on the back with the Kamer & Reinhardt stamp K*R 114 and the number 30 at the base of the neck. The smooth bisque, delicate paintwork and precisely sculpted features are all beautifully preserved, with no cracks, hairlines or repairs. There are some slight wig pulls to the top edge of the head, but no significant losses.

Her original composition body is ball-jointed and she moves freely, with all fingers and toes intact. She retains her original, finely-tailored clothing to include:
She also has a proper, full set of undergarments which are all fashioned of linen and lace, and include:
Condition
Superb antique condition. The bisque head is lovely and smooth. The painted facial features are vivid and bright. She has some wig pulls at the top of her head, and there are two tiny imperfection to her rosy left cheek (pictured above) - a 2 mm mark to upper cheek and 3 mm tiny straight mark at the bottom of cheek. These could be firing marks, but appear to be slight scratches which are visible at very close inspection. Her cardboard pate is also original and in fair condition for age - typical glue residue and marks. The wig is in very nice condition, with some old glue residue, but no hair loss. Her composition body is in good condition, with signs of old, professional repair to crack on front and back of legs (please see images). Notwithstanding, her jointed body moves freely, fingers and toes are all intact with no damage (a little dirt & wear). Her coat, bonnet and dress show signs of yellowing in areas, but are still in amazing condition and exceptionally well preserved. All under garments are crisp and bright, near perfection.

This is a truly beautiful and timeless doll, and it has been an absolute pleasure to own her. As if it's possible, she looks even better 'in the flesh' then could ever be portrayed in the images above. If you have any questions at all, or would like to see additional images, please don't hesitate to contact me.
