The solution is Magnat MC 1! It combines the quality of high-end individual components in a single compactly dimensioned unit. Selected components and extremely good quality of workmanship
The quality rating of the MC 1 is evident at first glance from the milled eight millimetre thick aluminium front panel with integrated aluminium control elements. The high-quality and clear visual impression is also reflected inside the unit. An ECC 88 double triode tube is at work in the preamplifier, which is decisive for the sound. This classic tube type guarantees particularly musical, transparent and three-dimensional reproduction. The tubes used for the MC1 are hand-selected and undergo a 60-hour load test before final assembly. The tube also amplifies the signal from the built-in phono preamplifier.
The strong transistor power amplifier delivers 160 watts of sine power
To be able to supply impedance-critical high-performance loudspeakers with a perfect signal, the power amplifier has been equipped with transistors from the Japanese component specialist, Sanken. They produce an output of 160 watts, which also offers plenty of reserves for high levels. The power supply unit used is also of great relevance to the sound: The MC 1 features an oversized toroidal transformer that is responsible for creating the perfect power supply. In addition to high efficiency, the small stray field is also an important feature of this model.
Super Audio CD player with 1A drive
The SACD provides for an extended treble range and a dynamic range of over 120 dB. The special linear-type Burr-Brown digital-to-analogue converter guarantees the best quality of sound here. A drive from the Japanese manufacturer, Sanyo Industries, has been used in order to provide a stable mechanical platform for CDs. This drive´s high stability and low resonance makes it stand out against more economical solutions.
RDS tuner with outstanding tuning precision
The tuner has been designed in accordance with the superheterodyne principle and combines excellent high tuning precision with the acoustic benefits of particularly low distortion levels. The tuner does, of course, also feature a radio text function and a sizeable memory for up to 80 stations. Automatic scanning is another obvious function as is the option for manually selecting frequencies.
