Marc Bolan Presents The Soul Sessions  - New label set up to help fund The Marc Bolan School Of Music & Film working in co-ordination with Marc's Family; Partner singer songwriter Gloria Jones and son Rolan Feld. Features unreleased tracks produced by Marc & Gloria for Gloria's own releases and her brother Richard Jones' unreleased album and for the abandoned album by T.Rex backing singer Sister Pat Hall. All tracks are different versions or completely unreleased including some recordings from Marc & Gloria's home. All tracks have been audio restored and remastered from new sources. The gate-fold sleeve package and booklet includes unseen photos from Marc's family.

In some respects this album has been 40 years in the making.. Even today it still sounds remarkably fresh and different from anything before or since.. ‘Cosmic Soul’ - (That certainly has a better ring to it than Plastic Soul)..  Bolan was trail blazing going into these sessions, and the 18 months spent pulling the majority of this together (inbetween Zinc Alloy and the Zip Gun sessions) was not only a labour of love, but the inspiration for a directional change that sadly never found it’s outlet back in 1974. 

Versions of many of these tracks found their way into the public arena over the past 2 decades. Firstly with a truely awful release by Edsel records ‘Marc Bolan Presents’  in the mid 90’s (utilising cassette recordings for their masters). In the past decade a great bootleg entitled ‘ Pure Magic’ gave the first indication that there were in fact better master recordings in existence. 

This release by Easy Action/ Light Of Love Wax Co. has pulled together (from a wide variety of sources), the 28 tracks that make up this double cd. It’s probably the closest we’re ever truely likely to get to that finished product Bolan was working on in the mid 70’s.. 

The album itself is also being used as a Fundraiser for the ‘Light Of Love’ Foundation to help promote and collect funds for ‘The Marc Bolan School of Music’ in Sierra Leone.
