Up for auction is an eMachines eTower 300 PC optimally configured for hosting Windows 98, 95 and many DOS games/applications. This vintage beauty is powered by an Intel Celeron CPU, 128MB RAM and the motherboard has two open 16-bit ISA slots for hosting legacy controller cards. A clean install of Windows 98 Second Edition (genuine media & key included) has been done and configured including updates/patches. DirectX 9.0c is installed as are Windows 98SE patches/updates. It has on-board ATI AGP video and Crystal ISA-based sound configured for DOS, Windows 95 and Windows 98 games. Two DOS boots are available from the desktop - One for DOS gaming with 604K of Lower DOS memory support, and one with 4MB of EMS support. These exclusive DOS boots reboot the PC in DOS mode and load drivers from a CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files for maximum game compatibility - tested with several Sierra DOS games and they ran great. See the pictures of Police Quest IV (for DOS) running as well as Gabriel Knight II for Windows 95...and both games are included for free! Just let me know during checkout and they are yours. While no vintage system builder can guarantee that all games will work on a specific platform, this rig has been optimally configured for DOS and Windows vintage games - particularly Sierra games. PC has a 3.5" (1.44MB) floppy drive as well as dual optical drives. The CD-RW drive is the faster of the two drives and CD burning software is installed. This rig is amazingly clean for its age. The auction includes its matching eMachines PS/2 keyboard, a new PS/2 mouse and a new power cord. A CD of all drivers used in the PC's configuration is also included. My PCs are well packed, fully insured, and ship via ground service with tracking info always provided so you know when your PC is going to arrive. When I charge flat-rate for shipping, I do refund overages (minus my reasonable packaging costs) back to my buyers via PayPal. If the cost to ship the PC is more than what I charge, I eat those costs. If it is less, then I refund the difference...can't be any more fair than that as I do not seek to make money on S/H. Quoted shipping applies to U.S. Lower 48 street addresses only - no P.O. Boxes. I will ship to Alaska and Hawaii, but shipping will be substantially higher - you must contact me for a quote. International shipping via eBay's Global Shipping Program - I have nothing to do with those costs or terms of service. I do not typically accept returns as this is a vintage PC. However, I will work with you if you have issues (does not include buyers remorse or specific game compatibility).
