Newly developed linear AF motor
This lens benefits from a newly developed linear AF motor which moves the lens unit directly without the need for gears or the drive of other mechanical parts. This system ensures accurate and almost silent autofocusing making the lens suitable for video recording as well as still photos. The AF unit is controlled by electromagnetics meaning it will only operate when power from the camera is sent to the lens. If the lens is not attached to the camera or the camera is switched off the AF unit will move freely inside the lens.

Rounded diaphragm
The lens features a rounded 7 blade diaphragm creates an attractive smooth blur to the out-of-focus parts of the image.

Convenient handling
The wider focus ring ensures improved usability when manually focusing.
