The ADNS 3050 sensor is an entry level gaming mouse sensor with motion detection up to 60 IPS and a selectable resolution up to 2000 CPI (Counts Per Inch). It tracks motion in the X and Y axis. Unlike laser sensors, the CPI is consistent with changes in speed with variations, whereas laser sensors vary by as much as 5%, which reduces accuracy. This board has everything needed to utilize the ADNS-3050 sensor, including an onboard voltage regulator for 5v operation.

The ADNS 3050 communicates via SPI with only 6 wires needed total (MOSI,MISO,SCLK,PWR,GND, and chip select).

I have multiple examples for using it with an arduino found here:https://github.com/Tom101222/Adns-3050-Optical-Sensor
