This globe is truly fascinating! I took it out of the box to make sure it was functioning as it should and was amazed when it "floated" in the center of the stand. Kids of all ages will love this! Great teaching/learning item. It come with a user guide and a kit  if you need help getting it to float. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of it (pardon the pun). Once you get the feel for it and know when to release it, you'll be ready to awe and amaze your friends. No need for batteries that run down. It plugs in with the included adapter.

I think it will make a great graduation or father's day gift, especially for the science lover. It has not been displayed or handled other than taking photos for listing. There is a little roughness on the box at some edges. Not very bad. It has been stored in the box.
