A stunningly beautiful doll!  The doll itself is incised "4348 Germany", the legs are stamped "Germany" and are incised with numbers which look like "7565" - please see pictures.  The porcelain half doll is 3 1/2" tall.

The finished doll sits on an enameled metal round box covered with black velvet fabric and white ribbon; it has white enameled finish inside.  The total height of the finished doll is about 7 1/2", and with the extended legs she is also 7 1/2" deep.  The doll does have a superficial crack at the bottom of the base (see pictures) which does not affect her structural solidity, nor is visible when the skirt is on.  There is also light wear to the gold finish on the golden shoes due to age.

This doll is masterfully crafted with very fine facial features.  There is some slight discoloration to one of her ears, which is not noticeable unless one looks for it.  I have seen a number of identical dolls, and this one is more artistically painted than the others.  This model is featured on p. 411 of "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Half-Dolls" by Marion & Werner.

Since the doll was newly redressed, it does not have any stains, rips or smells.   The dressed-up doll was built with an inner core, and thus is very sturdy with no wiggling of the body.  The box she sits on can be opened and closed, but it is a bit tight, so when you open it, pull the top of the lid, not the doll.  I also suggest that you keep the box filled with some weighty items to make sure the doll does not tip over.

The doll displays beautifully and is sure to be a conversation piece.  It can be used as a proper pin cushion as well.

The doll comes from a smoke-free home in NC. No international shipping.
