General condition
The player is in a very good fully working condition with clean front and rear panels. There is no marks of use, the player is supplied in its original box with remote control and manual
The player was serviced, its optics cleaned, mechanism was greased as necessary.
Short technical description.
The Marantz CD40 player is member of Marantz Cd 40/50/60 players,one of the most successful and popular femilies of the company in the very end of eighties. The model is built with the famous TDA1541 A DAC and the best quality swing arm CDM4 mechanism. The player good quality basic cd player and known to have tremendous potential for upgrade.
Modifications.
We decided to perform complete upgrade of the audio domain in this player. First, agened electrolytic capacitors in audio section were revised and replaced with the best audio quality ones. . Electrolytics removed from sound path and replaced with less free polypropylele "audiophile"grade capacitors. This really improved sound quality making it very transparent and clear
Tube output stage is possibly the very best companion to the 1541a dac. The tube output stage not only provides nice and warm "tube sound character", but suppress effectively any digital sound . The result is full analogue and pleasant to hear sound. The stage is built with new old stock JAN 5456 tubes. These tubes are made originally in the USE by General electric and are well known for excellent sonic performance. The tubes are new, in the best JAN ("military") grade and are capable for 3000 working hours al least..
OPTION FOR FURTHER UPGRADE.
Having long experience in upgrading TDA 1541 based players we strongly believe that sonic capabilities of nearly any good quality CD player will benefit significantly from use of a low jitter mastrclock, and especially from NonOverSamplining conversion player. We can offer this additional modification at some minimal cost if successful bidder likes so.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION to our parallel auction for Marantz PM55SE amplifier, possibly the best match to this player. Both devices are designed within the same technical culture and are matched sonically and aestetically.
We combine shipment of any of our items for lower postage cost. We dispatch in 4-5 working days, please, allow few extra days for delivery. Overseas delivery can take longer, up to 10-12 working days.

Item is fully tested and return is accepted within 2 week after delivery and exclusively in shape as it was shipped, i.e. perfect working condition. In this case 100% of auction price and shipment cost will be refunded. Return of nonworking, damaged or scratched item is not accepted and will be not refunded.
