Leopold Anzengruber, born in Steyr, Upper Austria on March 30, 1912, got to know the ceramics and their techniques in Florence, where he lived a few years after school, until he returned to Austria in 1942.In 1948, Leopold Anzengruber took over the Gusti Mundt-Amann ceramics workshop in Vienna 2, Boecklinstraße 49. When an acquaintance of Leopold Anzengrubers brought self-modeled nativity figures to his company in 1951, the figure of the Moorish king stirred interest in him. This inspiration resulted in the design of numerous Negro and African figures in various variations. The future sales camp was found.
