Hi I have here a Mavic hub bearing tool and spoke key for high-end Mavic wheels. It can also adjust Shimano Hollowtech 2 chainset bearing preload. The tool is very light at approximately 22 grams only so easy to carry with you.

This tool is a direct replacement of Mavic's M40123 hub bearing free play and preload adjustment tool and the M40652 or M40494 spoke key.

The bearing tool is designed for adjusting hub free play (the cause of brake drag, high speed wobbles and premature bearing wear etc.), and is suitable for the following wheels which have 6 little holes/recesses (see photo's top inset), each 12mm centre to centre from adjacent ones, for the 4 studs of the adjuster:

Ksyrium SSC, Ksyrium SSC SL, Ksyrium Elite 05, Ksyrium Elite 07

Crossride, Crossride Céramic

Crossmax, Crossmax XL, Crossmax UST, Crossmax ST, Crossmax SX, Crossmax SL, Crossmax SLR

Classics SSC, Classic Elite, Classic Pro and CD

Carbone SL

Comete

Cosmic, Cosmic Carbone, Cosmic Carbone SSC, Cosmic Elite (not 05), Cosmic Carbone SL Premium

Cosmos

Deemax, Deemax UST

Deetraks

It is really easy to use. But if you haven't used them before, you can see Mavic's instruction here: LINK

The tool also incorporates a spoke key for the 6-tooth gear shaped Mavic M7 spoke nipples (see photo's bottom inset) used to tension Mavic ZIRCAL spokes such as that of the following wheels:

Deemax UST, Crossmax UST, Crossmax SL, Crossmax XL, Ksyrium SSC, Ksyrium SSC SL wheels, Crosstrail, Crossmax Enduro and Enduro Disc.

Please be aware that Mavic changed their M7 spoke and nipple dimension in 2011, so wheels since then do not have spoke nipples of 5.5mm outside diameter any more, and they require a different spoke key. If you have any uncertainty regarding compatibility or question please ask before purchase.

These tools are brand new and have never been used. As you can see from Mavic's instructions, these tools are and should be made of resin polymer, and are designed to break before too much force is applied to cause expensive damage to your alloy wheel. This can happen if the bearing preload was over-tightened previously, or the alloy spoke nipples are frozen to the rim by corrosion. In these cases the wheel should be returned to Mavic for repair.

Finally, the tool also incorporates a handy Shimano TL-FC16 compatible bearing preload adjuster for Shimano Hollowtech II chainsets.

Thanks for looking!
