When it came out in 2008 it was one of the biggest phones in the world and it probably still is today since most manufacturers nowadays are launching slim and compact devices. It measures an almost incredible 5.2 x 2.2 x 0.7 inches and it tips the scales at 7.4 ounces. The good thing about its mammoth size is that the build quality is excellent and it also adopts a corporate appearance which is designed for power business users.
On the outside it has a 2.0-inch display that can show up to 16 million colors and has a 320 x 240-pixel resolution. Below it you’ll find the regular navigation array that consists of two keys, shortcut to main menu, talk & end buttons, 4-way toggle with a center select key, along with the alphanumeric dialpad.

Opening the Nokia E90 Communicator unveils the full QWERTY keyboard and the 3.6-inch internal display. The latter has a resolution of 800 x 352 pixels and can display 16M colors. The individual buttons of the keyboard are quite roomy so it isn’t a real problem that there isn’t much space between them. You will have access to functions like messaging, contacts, web and calendar. On the right side of the device you will find the camera shutter and the voice-recorder button, while on the phone’s bottom sit the mini USB port, 2.5 mm headset jack and a power connector. At the back is the 3.2 mpx camera that has a flash and a microSD expansion slot.
The smartphone is running on the Symbian OS 9.2 Series 60 3rd Edition and comes with support for viewing and editing Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents via the QuickOffice suite. It also comes with Adobe Reader, calendar, zip manager, calculator, notes, clock, currency converter and a voice recorder. Regarding the e-mail capabilities, it has support for POP3, IMAP, SMTP and Microsoft Exchange Server.

Powered by a Texas Instrument OMAP2420 processor clocked at 330 MHz, the phone manages to be quite smooth as far as the user experience is concerned, but you will notice some lag when launching the camera or other multimedia apps.
