vintage Omega Speedmaster MKII with ultra rare reference 145.034 in untouched condition! No replacement parts or re-plating of the case!

Brand: OMEGA

Year of manufacture: this watch reference was launched in  the beginning of the seventies and the serial number of this watch dates it to  as well.

watch size:

The barrel shaped gold plated case with a stainless steel screw back is 42mm wide not including the crown. Full length is 45mm. It is 20mm wide between the lugs.

About the brand:

Omega is, on par with Rolex, the most recognized brand around the world

Specifics of this model:

1 - This gold plated version, ref 145.034, together with the all gold version is very rare, something you can easily confirm. You will find many steel ones for sure, but not this version and not at this price!

2 - This particularly beautiful gold color dial, can only be found in a solid gold or gold plated case.

3 - The mineral glass with the inner Bordeaux scale can only be found in the gold plated and the gold version.

4 - This Speedmaster MKII has the same caliber of its brother the Speedmaster moon watch, the 22 jewels Omega manual wind caliber 861.  The caliber 861 was conceived by Albert Piguet of Lemania. Omega promoted the MKII stating that it was tougher than the original Speedmaster but it has never achieved the popularity of the moon watch version.

Inside the watch:

Swiss made Omega manual wind superlative caliber 861, copper colored.

Service history:

Unknown service history. Not recently serviced.

If it is not stated that the watch has been serviced recently you would better consider a revision by an expert watchmaker, no matter how good the test results may look. This applies to every vintage watch not just this one. As a general rule manufacturer's recommend a revision every two years.

Working condition:

1 - Winding is smooth

2 - time setting is smooth.

3 - starts upon winding, there is no need to shake it.

4 - the chronographs functions, start, stop and reset, were tested three times and worked fine.

5 - The chronograph was put to work for more than 12 hours and it has never stopped all along the way.

To get you a clearer picture of how the watch will behave, I do the following home testing: I test it against a watch that I know is correct. For this I purpose I use a web page that provides the exact time. I check the deviation after 12 and 24 hours. The results for this watch after 12 hours: -03s seconds  and after 24 hours:   -04 seconds.

This simple home test is not a warranty of repeatability or accuracy. Actually wearing the watch in the pulse will get you different results for sure.

No matter how good the test results may look, the watch is sold as is, without any sort of warranty.

The watch is signed Omega: in the dial, in the case and in the movement. The crown bears the Omega logotype.

Please note:

1 - The watch should not be used in the water! All diving watches, even recent, should be sent for a qualified water sealing service each year prior to diving season.

2 - Any acrylic or metallic display that might appear in the pictures is not included in the sale!

Please take a look at my other auctions and at my excellent feedback!

Condition:  Please refer to the pictures for a complete perception of the item’s condition. This will be more precise and effective than my eyesight or judgment.

All pictures are of the actual item. Photos are not retouched or edited to mask defects.  Please take time to enlarge the all the photos for the clearest, largest images. Photos usually disclose the condition much better than a written description as many people have a different idea on what words or terms may mean. If an identifying mark or defect is visible on the photo it is considered disclosed to the buyer.

Please remember that seeing the item at very high magnification, as in the pictures that I provide, brings to life small defects that the human eye does not perceive.

If you don’t see it in the pictures and it is not mentioned in the description, then it is not included in the auction!

I aim to provide as much details concerning the auction as possible, because I feel that from a buyer's standpoint there is nothing more uncomfortable than unpleasant surprises.

3 - I advise you to check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding.

4 - Before bidding, make certain that the item offered in this auction does not in any way violate international laws, customs or postage restrictions of your country.

Registered Shipping by CTT

Please read this as it gives you detailed information concerning shipping, insurance, tracking and time to arrive to your country.

Insurance for loss is included at a cost of 2% of item's value. Insurance will be provided by a third party, not by the post, since I could not find a courier that insures collectibles, precious objects and watches.

Registered shipping (requiring your signature upon reception) can be tracked in the Portuguese Post website (they have an English version) and after a few days, after the item arrival at your country, or in some countries before that, you can track it in your country's official Post. Tracking is not accessible by clicking in the tracking number in the eBay page. An exception to this is the USA but you will have to wait for me to upload the USPS tracking number, which will take a few days after the item is sent.

For instance, if you are in the USA you can track it in the USPS website, and if you are in the UK you will track it in the Royal Post; in Spain you can track it in www.correos.es; in France you can track it in La Poste

Please remember that the tracking number must be tracked in these websites, meaning that you have to copy paste the number in the appropriate place in the website.

Some countries might not provide the tracking feature. Please check with your country postal office beforehand as I cannot have this information. In any case the shipping can be always be traced if anything goes wrong.

You will be able to track the shipping at:

CTT – Correios de Portugal

Or try the following link to the English page of the CTT website, or copy paste this address to your web browser:

http://www.ctt.pt/feapl_2/app/open/objectSearch/objectSearch.jspx?lang=01

Important note concerning expected time of arrival:  under normal circumstances, in the European Community zone, the package is due to arrive in five to seven business days. Outside the Euro countries it will take considerably more days due to longer distance, grouping of parcels and customs bureaucracy. Usually 25 to 35 days, a few times less than that, depending of your country.

Packing ($2 USD) + registered shipping with reception notice ($15 USD), plus insurance at 2% of item’s value ($40 USD), to Europe:  $57 USD

Packing ($2 USD) + registered shipping with reception notice ($20 USD), plus insurance at 2% of item’s value ($40 USD), to the rest of the world:  $62 USD

A scan of the post receipt will be at your disposal, should you ask. The cost of insurance will not be shown in the post receipt. Neither the cost of packing.

Expedited shipping

Do you want to receive your item faster? If you do I can send it to you very fast but the cost is considerably higher.

MRW is a Spanish company that subcontracts other carriers. Shipping to the USA is usually by FEDEX and this means shipping is very fast and can be fully tracked. If sent without insurance the buyer assumes the risk of shipping immediately after tracking is visible in the carrier's website.

Price (without insurance) to the European community: USD $55

Price (without insurance) to Canada and the USA: USD $75

Price (without insurance) to Asia, Australia, South & Central America: $95

Insurance, at 2% of item's value, will be optional, it is up for you to decide. You will receive the invoice with insurance adjusted to the value of the item but if you don't want to pay for insurance you just have to ask for it and a new invoice will be sent to you. This is valid for expedited shipping only.

1 - Please note that shipping costs include safe and careful packing.

2 - Combined shipping will be applied on purchase invoices. This means that you would not pay shipping for each item although the cost of shipping will increase, because the cost of shipping is, of course, weight related.

3 - If you have an account with UPS, FEDEX, DHL or with any other similar company that operates in Portugal and want them to pick up the item for you, I will be glad to act according to your instructions. In this case you won’t be charged anything for shipping, not even packing. Insurance is up to you but all of this must  be specified in the PayPal payment clearly.

By buying or making an offer you agree with all that is stated above.

Please skip this auction/sale if you don't agree with everything or if you disagree with something  that is stated, thanks!
