My Experience:

OK maybe Im biased but this is a superb storage and backup drive for Windows desktops and Notebooks at a low price per GB.

They work flawlessly with the Acronis True Image software offered as part of this package (download)  which provides an automated full metal backup solution for Windows PCs Further you can backup your files to Dropbox, (if you have an account)

If you are looking to store your photos and use Lightroom, ACDSee or similar then photos stored on this drive can be incorporated into the catalogue for quick access.
