In der Münchener Abendzeitung bescheinigte der seinerzeit 24-jährige Feuilletonchef (und spätere Chefredakteur des 'Stern') Michael Jürgs IMPROVED SOUND LIMITED 'angelsächsische Klasse', lobte die Unverwechselbarkeit der Musik als Gütesiegel und sinnierte, wenn je in Deutschland eine Rockoper wie 'Tommy' von den Who gelingen sollte, könne sie nur von IMPROVED SOUND LIMITED geschaffen werden. Franz Schöler, der 'Joachim Kaiser der Rock-Kritik' (Die Zeit, NZZ, SZ, WAZ, Playboy, Stereo), schrieb, die Doppel-LP sei 'die beste deutsche Rockproduktion seit der Beatles-Live-LP mit Tony Sheridan'. In seinem Buch 'Let it rock' (München-Wien 1975) nahm er sie auf in die äußerst exklusive 'Discografie der epochemachenden Rock-Platten 1954-1974'.
In the newspaper 'Münchener Abendzeitung' the then 24 year old head of literature (and later editor-in-chief of 'Stern' magazine) Michael Jürgs acknowledged IMPROVED SOUND LIMITED as being in the Anglo-Saxon class, praised the unique style as a mark of quality and pondered that if ever there was going to be a rock opera like Tommy in Germany, IMPROVED SOUND LIMITED were the only ones capable of it. Franz Schöler, a famous German rock critic, described the double-LP as 'the best German rock production since the Beatles Live LP by Tony Sheridan'. In his book 'Let it Rock' (München-Wien 1975) he included it in the very exclusive 'Discography of Epoch-Making Rock Records 1954-1974'.It's incredible that the band and their double LP were not just positively received in the music press but also in the arts sections of highbrow newspapers. This was going against the grain of German Rock. Rather than play Progressive or Kraut Rock they filtered out their melodic idiosyncrasies and played high quality rock music, timeless and grandiose, a milestone in German rock and pop history.
Release first time on CD: This German psychedelic Pop-rock band released originally in 1971 a double album on Liberty / U.A./ 17 tracks, over 70 minutes. A direction like BEATLES-'White Album', but more psychedelic songs. Every track is pure emotional music, plenty more of lyrical sound with superb flute and great harmony vocals, included a 17 min track 'A soldiers songbook' from the Beatnik-Film 'Wer im Glashaus liebt oder der Graben' by Michael Verhoeven. A real gigantic musical trip!
