This is a Yamaha YHR 662 Double French Horn (serial number 004154). This horn is in good condition and plays very well. It is made from yellow brass with nickel silver accents. The valves move well with very good compression and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are a few dings and pings, as well as some light scratching and pitting. There are also a few isolated areas of light etching on the inner wrap and inside the bell flare. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop, and repaired to full playability. The finger button rail has “YAMAHA” stamped on one side and “YHR-662/ 004154” stamped on the other. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This instrument comes with its original somewhat worn hardshell case and a mouthpiece in good condition.

How the horn plays: Full, light sound. The tone is warm and smooth. The Bb side timbre is slightly brighter than the F side. The horn is light, responsive, and free-blowing. The low and high registers speak well and the horn has a good dynamic range
