Great condition barely used, couple light scuffs on blade finish, light scratches on polished aluminum section of handle, barely visible.  Tops knives makes great, long lasting, durable, high quality, hand finished knives in the USA.  I have some tops fixed blades, and they're great, so I bought this to see how they did with a folder.  My conclusion, they should make more folders.  Besides Spyderco or Al Mar this is the best iI've seen.  Light, solid, basic high quality design.  It's everything they say it is in the factory description below.  Great flipper, flies open, easy to flip design lines up your thumb in the perfect spot with the thumb stud.  I read a review that said it was difficult to flip open, couldn't be more wrong.  Fits the hand perfect, feels light and solid, great ergonomics and texture.  It has a great edge, even polished edge, one of the best I've seen from the factory, very sharp.  Practical, very useful tanto blade style ends in a nice point, with the rounded top portion it's almost a spear point.  Great tops knives powder coat finish is the best I've seen.  Feels like it'll last forever.  It's very thick, durable, and has a nice texture, not smooth, not rough.  One more thing to note, this one has the polished sections on the handle and looking at the factory website it looks that they've stopped doing that and the new ones they are producing now come without the polished sections.  Also check out my other knives/items.    They're all my personal owned knives, all well taken care of.

Manufacturer information:

The name Mil-SPIE is an acronym that the DOD came up with several years ago. It stands for (Military-Special Projects Individual Equipment) Pronounced 'MIL SPY'. This was to enable Special Operation Forces within the Military to help develop, test, evaluate and acquire 'out of the ordinary' and 'outside of normal channels' items that they require.

TOPS Knives is often approached by individual Operators who advise us of their ideas and the criteria that need to be met for their Unit or Team. The challenge was to develop a small knife with a fairly narrow carrying profile, it had to be strong and light in weight. With this criteria in mind we created and named the Mil-SPIE Knives. The success of both of our fixed blades, the Mil SPIE 3 and the Mil SPIE 5, were the basis of our latest folder.

This folder is a combination of rugged good looks, lightweight design, a secure grip, a great working blade, and a sturdy clip attachment. All in all, a positive carry for a wide variety of tasks.
