Offered is an emulator for ELV BMW E-series with electric steering wheel lock. If the steering wheel lock on your BMW is mechanically faulty, the emulator can solve the problem cost-effectively. BMW Workshop will replace the complete steering column in this case. After installation, the vehicle has no more errors and restarts normally. The steering wheel lock remains in the case out of service.

It should be noted that in some cases a counter reset must be performed in the CAS control unit. This requires special OBD devices and knowledge.

Yourself installation:
Remove trim panel under steering column (3 screws).
Disconnect the plug from ELV. The is located approximately in the middle of the steering column.
Plug in emulator. IMPORTANT: The pin 1 of the emulator (see picture) must match the pin 1 of the vehicle connector (labeled) (pin assignment rule).
Check if the message has disappeared.
If the first solution did not help, you should bid for solution 2.
2 Solution: Counter Reset with shipping from the CAS module to us.
1) Contact us on Ebay by message and ask for a price suggestion.
2) accept price proposal and pay.
3) Disconnect the battery. Remove CAS module and send it to us. The module is located at
the steering column.
4) After receiving your module it will be reprogrammed the same day and the next day
sent back to you with DHL as a package.
5) You get back your CAS module AND the emulator from us.
6) Install CAS module and emulator after solution1.
7) In some cases the immobilizer has to be re-synchronized with a diagnostic device. This is only necessary if the vehicle has not started after CAS installation.
8) Done.

Was ist Chiptuning !?Chiptuning ist ein Möglichkeit, die Leistung eines Fahrzeugs zu erhöhen oder zu optimieren. Moderne Fahrzeuge sind mit einem Motorsteuergerät ausgestattet, welches über die Kennfelder den Lauf des Motors regelt. Diese Kennfelder sind auf einem Chip oder einem Prozessor gespeichert. Dieser Chip befindet sich im Motorsteuergerät. Wird dieser Chip durch einen Chip mit modifizierten Kennfeldern ausgetauscht oder Programmiert spricht man von Chiptuning. Sofort nach dem Austausch oder der Programmierung ist die Mehrleistung sofort deutlich spürbar. Sowohl bei Benzin als auch Diesel Motoren kann Chiptuning durchgeführt werden. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist, dass sich durch Chiptuning auch der Kraftstoffverbrauch reduzieren lässt. In Zeiten hoher Spritkosten ist dies natürlich ein Vorteil.
Jeder Autohersteller stellt seine Motoren so ein, dass sie auch unter extremen Bedingungen von Umwelt und Kraftstoff funktionieren. Da wir in Europa (besonders in Deutschland), was diese Faktoren betrifft, hervorragende Bedingungen haben, ergibt sich die Möglichkeit, durch einen Eingriff ins Motor-Management (ECU - Engine control unit) ein höhere Leistung zu erzielen, ohne die Lebensdauer ihres Motors zu beeinträchtigen.
Bei gleicher Fahrweise werden Sie durch das höhere Drehmoment (= mehr Kraft) ein Kraftstoffersparnis von ca. 0,5-1,5 Liter pro 100km haben. Wir erreichen diese Leistungssteigerung durch ein Neuprogrammierung des Steuergeräts. Die elektronischen Einspritzsysteme von modernen Fahrzeugen sind mit einer Hardware ausgerüstet, die der eines Personalcomputers ähnelt. Dieser Computer errechnet alle für den einwandfreien Motorlauf notwendigen Daten. Durch Änderung der werksseitig vorgegebenen Daten in der Software des Herstellers, aber gleichzeitiger Beibehaltung der notwendigen Kontrollfunktionen, erreichen wir ein Leistung.
