Q: Who is Kompolt?
A:  The Glide Foundation has retained Kompolt to manage this auction.  Kompolt provides a comprehensive auction management service for charities, nonprofit organizations, and top brand companies.

Q: Do I need to be pre-qualified to bid on this auction?
A: Yes. In order to help ensure a smooth and successful auction, Kompolt will be performing bidder pre-qualification for this event. To begin this process, please fill out the Pre-Qualification form.

Q: Why must I pre-qualify if I'm already a current eBay member in good standing?
A: We realize that the Bidder Pre-Qualification policy may seem like an unnecessary procedure to eBay community members in good standing, but to ensure a safe and fair auction, we require that all bidders participate.

Q. Is bidding open internationally?
A: Yes, bidding is open internationally.

Q. I've won the auction! What happens next?
A. A representative of Kompolt will contact the winning bidder via email or phone to congratulate him or her and confirm the payment amount and payment instructions.

Q. How may I pay for my Lunch with Warren Buffett experience?
A. We only accept payment through a bank wire transfer. Funds must be payable to “Glide Foundation” in U.S. dollars only, shipped directly to Glide via traceable source, and received within three (3) business days of the close of the auction.

Q. Is there sales tax?
A. No. Sales tax will not be charged.

Q. Will a receipt be provided?
A. Yes, a receipt for the final bid amount paid will be provided by the Glide Foundation.

Q. Is my payment tax deductible?
A. Payment to the Glide Foundation for this Lunch with Warren Buffett experience is considered a charitable contribution, some or all of which may be tax deductible depending on your individual circumstances.  Please discuss this issue with your tax advisor before you bid.

Q: When can I expect to receive information regarding my Lunch with Warren Buffett experience?
A: Barring a presently unanticipated change in circumstances, the expected delivery time of relevant experience information is 7-10 business days after final payment is received and acknowledged.

All bidders agree that the auction is subject to the following terms and conditions, as well as those in the FAQs above:

The Lunch with Warren Buffet Experience

• The winning bidder will receive the opportunity to enjoy a Lunch with Warren Buffett, (the “Lunch”).  The winning bidder may invite up to 7 friends to join him or her at the Lunch.
• The details of the Lunch—including, but not limited to, the restaurant location, date, and time—are to be arranged between the winning bidder and Warren Buffett.
• The winning bidder is solely responsible for any lodging accommodations and transportation to and from the Lunch. The Glide Foundation is not responsible for any arrangements or expenses related to the Lunch.
• The winning bidder agrees, warrants, and represents that he or she (and his or her invited guests) will not in any way advertise, promote, market, or use Warren Buffett’s or the Glide Foundation’s name, likeness, voice, photograph, signature, logo, or image in any manner, for any reason, at any time, without the prior written consent of both Warren Buffett and the Glide Foundation.
• The Glide Foundation will receive 100% of the net proceeds from the winning bid (typically, the entire bid amount).
• The winning bid is a charitable contribution to a 501(c)(3) organization and may be tax deductible. Bidders are advised to check with their tax advisor.

The Bidding Process

• All bidders must be Pre-Qualified by Kompolt, the auction manager.
• All bidders must successfully place a ‘test’ bid with Kompolt’s assistance prior to bidding on the auction.
• All bidders must have reached the age of legal majority in the country from which they are bidding.
• Only principals shall be permitted to enter bids.  Bidding by silent or secret proxy or partner shall not be permitted and shall be, in Glide’s sole discretion, a basis for rejecting and/or revoking any winning bid. 
• In the event a bid is rejected or revoked on this or any other basis, Glide shall have the right to offer the Lunch experience to the second highest bidder at the auction.   
• Kompolt reserves the right to block a bidder for any reason including, but not limited to, feedback, non-paying bidder, bid retractions, recent bid history, any attempt by the bidder to promote and/or sell any part of the Lunch for personal or company profit without prior written consent, or other material information regarding character and/or fitness of the bidder available to it. 
• Please note that shill bidding is neither allowed nor tolerated. This practice is illegal and carries legal consequences in many areas. Per eBay’s help pages, “shill bidding is the deliberate placing of bids to artificially raise the price of an item and is not allowed.” For more information about shill bidding, please click here.
• The winning bidder agrees to pay within 3 business days of the close of the auction.
• All bids must be paid in US dollars.

General Conditions

• Only the winning bidder and his or her invited guests may participate in the Lunch with Warren Buffet.  The Lunch experience may not be sold or otherwise transferred without the express written consent of Warren Buffet and the Glide Foundation. 
• The winning bidder and his or her invited guests (if applicable) agree to provide their names, addresses, dates of birth, and other identifying information as reasonably requested for security verification including, but not limited to, criminal and police background checks. Failure to supply such information may result in forfeiture of the Lunch experience without any refund being issued.  
• The winning bidder and his or her invited guests hereby consent, as part of their participation in the Lunch experience, to the reasonable examination of their persons and the persons of their invited guests and, if requested, may be subject to additional security checks and procedures.
• The Lunch and any related encounters may or may not be supervised by event staff.
• The winning bidder acknowledges that due to the unique nature of this Lunch experience, it is sometimes difficult to anticipate and schedule exact meeting times. Kompolt will coordinate details with the winning bidder on a best efforts basis in order to enable the winning bidder to schedule the Lunch experience as far in advance as possible.
• Any delay caused by the winning bidder may result in the Lunch experience being forfeited and no claim for a refund or alternative meeting time will be entertained.
• The Lunch experience may be cancelled due to illness or unavailability of the principal individual(s) without refund or reschedule.
• Kompolt and its partners will assist any persons requiring special assistance with the fulfillment of the Lunch experience to the best of our ability. It is the bidder’s responsibility to confirm with Kompolt in advance if special accommodations are required and to confirm if they can be made. Please note that some experiences may have certain restrictions or limitations based on location, physical venue and other circumstances beyond our control. Failure to confirm if special assistance or accessibility can be made may result in loss of the Lunch experience and payment if the winning bidder is unable to take part in the Lunch experience.
• This auction does not include any items or services that are not detailed above.
• Your participation in this auction constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
