1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Coupe,

 Having finally decided that I shall not be repairing my 1962 Giulietta Sprint, it is for sale, to include the original registration.  It is right hand drive, having been professionally converted, I believe by Rudds, in it’s early years.

 It is complete but a non-runner. It was last professionally renovated by Classic Preparations of Nottingham in 1987/8, since when it has done minimal mileage. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt in 1992, and a new radiator fitted in 1994. I acquired it late 1992 and used it occasionally (dry use only!) until 1997 when the head gasket blew. The head was removed, skimmed and the valves lapped in. The next job was to have been to remove and reseat the cylinder liners, but then other things got in the way.  Since then it has stood in a dry garage, covered, with the rear on axle stands. As far as I am aware it will be relatively straightforward, if time consuming, to return it to usability.  I have included as many pictures as possible so that you can see it’s present condition, but if you are seriously interested please come and see it before you bid (car is in Telford, Shropshire). Car is sold as a non-runner with no further warranty.

Clearly, after standing so long it will require a full overhaul, but the immediate problem (apart from the work on the engine) is that the brakes on the rear wheels have locked solid, and the car will require some form of wheel trolley to move it.

 Points to note are:

• Reg No 13DLR, included in the price, has been valued recently at £3000.
• it was extensively waxoyled in 1992
• the wings, sills etc were all replaced in 1987 and appear to be in good condition
• the paintwork is superficially good, but there are small chips etc (the result of standing so long in my garage) and blemishes/pimpling which will require attention.
• the exhaust is very rusty and has probably expired.
• the only troublesome corrosion that I am aware of is in the driver’s side A pillar, around the mount for the door retainer (see picture).
• much of the chrome is poor and will require work.
• the car is complete but not all to original specification – spares have been sourced and parts fabricated as necessary. For example, the upholstery is non-standard, as are the air cleaner and filter, and the electric fuel pump.
• it is tax exempt, and not subject to SORN since it was last taxed before 1998.
• winding side windows have been scratched and will require work. Other glass is good.
• boot is pictured without rubber mats, spare wheel and battery.
• a full head gasket set and 4 Golden Lodge plugs are included.

 Buyer collects and, since rear wheels are locked, is responsible for the removal from garage. Drive is clear for trailer. Full payment (cash or bankers draft) within 14 days of end of auction, and to be made before car is moved.
