A lot of both Memory Foam & Latex that is being sold in Australia for use in Mattresses is being imported from China. Chinese Latex is nowhere near the quality or purity of Latex Gold, Asian latex can have fillers and stabilizers added which reduce the consistency and lifespan of the product. If you buy a pin core latex mattress you must find out where the latex comes from and if the retailer can't tell you then it's probably imported from China. Also Memory foam from China can be made from formaldehyde & CFCs which are banned from use in Australia because of their toxicity. A lot of Australian Made Mattresses use much cheaper imported latex and foams from China but still promote them as Australian made. At Town & Country we use only Australian Dunlop foams and NZ Natural Latex in our Mattresses.
