Compatible with any American style fridge which uses 1/4" water pipe, can replace the LG filters BL9808, 3890JC2990A, 5231JA2012A, Composition, and many others by manufacturers using an external filter and 1/4" water pipe.

This filter comes with Push Fittings at either end, you simply push your existing Water Pipe straight into the cartridge and it will grip to make the connection, there is no need to use fiddly screw connectors.

 

Why does this filter last longer than others?

Most standard fridge filters use only Carbon as a filtration media. Carbon is very effective at removing chemicals etc, however over time there is a potential for biofilm bacteria growth within a carbon only filter. This is why standard carbon only filters are recommend to be changed every 6 months to ensure safety. With our universal 12 month fridge filter KDF if used in addition to carbon which helps control bacteria growth within the filter, allowing for a longer filter life between changes.

 

Multi Stage Filter - 3 in 1

Stage 1 - KDF Water Filtration

KDF55 is a U.S patented filtration media which is very effective at removing high levels of chlorine, hyrdogen sulphide, heavy metals, and has antibacterial properties. The media works by creating a redox reaction to create an electrolytes enviroment within the water which inhibits bacteria growth to give this filter its long 12 month filter life (in comparison carbon only filters should be changed 6 monthly).

Stage 2 - Carbon Water Filtration

The Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)  is a very effective filtration media which absorbs many chemcials, pesticides, herbicides, THMs, PCBs, Chloramines, and many other chemical compounds. The life span of the carbon in this filter is enhanced by the KDF in stage 1.

Stage 3 - Mineralisation

The last part of this filter contains Calcite mineral rocks, as the pure water flows through the cartridge and over these rocks Calcium is added to the water, essentially giving you mineralised water on tap with a slight increase to the pH alkalinity.
