Polartec is the Gold Standard in performance cold weather clothing. Every quality name brand fleece jacket or pant has a tag inside that says: “Polartec Fabric”.

                

These are the 2nd Generation Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (2G ECWCS) Classic 200 overalls. When used in combination with other layers in the ECWCS system, the system will provide protection between 40°F and -40°F (44° - 51° Celsius). These are Currently being worn by the U.S. Marines, Special Forces, Air Force, Navy and US Army soldiers in one form or another.

ECWCS (extended cold weather clothing system) fleece is state of the art performance wear tested, trusted, and abused by US Ground Forces around globe. If this Bib set can stand the rigors of combat, I would think it would prrrooobably perform admirably under the harshest conditions you can serve up.

Polartec Bibs are worn underneath lose fitting cold weather clothes. Just like the jacket the bibs can be worn to supplement any pants you can fit them under.

The Polartec fabric is such a big win in the war against the elements because it insulates AND wicks perspiration away from body effectively retaining body heat without overheating then freezing as the trapped moisture cools.

                                                             IF THE FLEECE MATERIAL ON THESE PANTS IS ALLOWED TO HANG BELOW A BOOT AND OUTSIDE OF WATERPROOF PANTS 

                             THESE PANTS COULD WICK WATER UP THE LEG INCREASING THE RISK OF EXPOSURE / COLD INJURIES.  

                                                             THAT IS WHY THESE MAY SEEM SHORT - BECAUSE THAT IS THE WAY THEY WERE DESIGNED.
